This Centre for Online and Distance Education Webinar draws from a CODE project and will bring together the project team to share critical insights from our research. This panel discussion will highlight the need for assessment redesign, technological interventions, student engagement, and policy evolution. The speakers will discuss the limitations of technology-based solutions, the role of pedagogical strategies in fostering trust and fairness, and the impact of generative AI on academic integrity. This event is designed for educators, assessment designers, institutional leaders, and policymakers, seeking to develop robust strategies for online assessment. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in discussion on creating assessments that reduce misconduct opportunities, using AI responsibly, and building an institutional culture that supports ethical learning. As online education evolves, ensuring academic integrity requires a balanced, multi-layered approach one that integrates education, policy, and technological innovation to sustain fairness and credibility in digital learning environments.
